Vitorchiano and Bomarzo
2nd Itinerary (Northern Lazio, Vitorchiano-Bomarzo; one day)
Morning
You can start by visiting Vitorchiano, a picturesque medieval village. Vitorchiano’s medieval quarter is small but authentic with quaint residences, towers and tiny streets and squares. From Vitorchiano you can proceed to Bomarzo where you can take a brief walk through the medieval quarter before stopping for lunch.
Afternoon
After lunch you can visit the Garden of Monsters, a bizarre creation in dramatic contrast with the architecture of that period, designed and produced by Vicino Orsini toward the end of XVIth century. The garden consists of horrific and monstrous figures sculptured from stone.
